Argentina is divided into 18 ecoregions (large, relatively homogeneous areas, in which there are different natural communities that have in common a large number of species and environmental conditions), of which 15 correspond to the continental area and the other 3 to the islands of the South Atlantic, the Argentine Antarctic and the Argentine Sea.
We group them into 15 ecoregions, considering the Gran Chaco and the Monte as large ecoregions.
