The Province of Entre Ríos is one of the 23 provinces in the Argentine Republic. In turn, it makes one of the 24 self-governing states or jurisdictions of the first order that make up the country, and one of the 24 national legislative electoral districts.The capital and most populous city is Paraná. It is located east of the Central region of the country, bounded on the north by Corrientes, on the east by the Uruguay River that separates it from Uruguay, on the south and east by the Paraná River that separates it from the Province of Buenos Aires and Santa Fe, respectively. With 78 781 km² it is the eighth largest jurisdiction of the first order - ahead of San Luis, Formosa, Jujuy, Misiones, Tucumán, Tierra de Fuego and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, the least extensive - and with 15.6 inhabitants/km², and the seventh most densely populated jurisdiction, behind the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, the Province of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Mendoza and Tucumán.
