Hydrographic Basins map of Argentina
Argentina has a large number of rivers throughout its territory, and also has lakes, wetlands, ice fields and groundwater. Of the large number of water courses that run through the country, mostly navigable, some of them have great hydroelectric importance.
The most important hydrographic systems of Argentina belong to the Atlantic Slope. They are the River Plate Basin and the Patagonian System. Argentina also has other hydrological systems such as the Endorreic Basins, the Pacific Slope and the Lakes and Lagoons.
