Jilin is one of the twenty-two provinces that, together with the five autonomous regions, four municipalities and two special administrative regions, make up the People's Republic of China. Its capital is Changchun. It is located in the center of the Northeast region of the country, bounded on the north by Heilongjiang, on the east by Russia, on the southeast by North Korea, on the southwest by Liaoning and on the west by Inner Mongolia. With 146 hab / km² it is the ninth less densely populated division, ahead of Yunnan, Ningxia, Heilongjiang, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Sinkiang, Qinghai and Tibet, the least densely populated.
