Main ports of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The province of Buenos Aires has 12 public ports, 26 private and more than 200 for recreational uses that are distributed along 1,500 kilometers of maritime and fluvial coast. The Port of Bahía Blanca is characterized by the movement of cereals and oilseeds (soy, corn, wheat); fuels (methane, fuel oil); fertilizers and agricultural manufactures (soybean meal, sunflower oil). In the Port of Quequén, grain operations (barley, soybean) predominate, while the port of Mar del Plata is predominantly associated with the fish industry. In the Port of La Plata, fuels, chemicals, sand and vehicles are mainly moved, while in Dock Sud the traffic of containers, fuels and sand prevails.

Within the river ports, in San Pedro grain (rice, soybean) and citrus (lemon) operations prevail, in San Nicolás fertilizers and iron and steel stand out and in the Port of Coronel Rosales, crude oil is shipped.
