Map of Pinamar partido, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Pinamar is one of the 135 partidos in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires. It has several resort-tourist localities on the coast of the Argentine Sea and is located 349 km southeast of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The party was created by division of the Partido de Gral. Madariaga. Its head is the city of Pinamar.

The partido of Pinamar is one of the main tourist centers of the country, has wide beaches and clean sands. In addition, it has a large number of resorts and hotels. During the summer season the city receives more than 1 million 600 thousand visitors. It is a place for both young people and families, since it has options for all tastes.

Montecarlo: The town is 5 km north of Pinamar, and is an area depopulated and lacking electricity and drinking water; It has prospects for urban development although infrastructure works of some importance are necessary.

Pinamar: The city's main attraction is the ocean, so it is a fairly quiet town during the winter months. Tourism fuels the economy during the summer.

Two facts set Pinamar apart from most of the other Argentine beach cities: it is a planned city with a very strict building code, and it has been artificially turned from wild sand dunes into a forest (mostly of pine trees, which explains the "pina" in the town's name).

Pinamar has about 25,397 inhabitants as per the 2010 census [INDEC].

Ostende: Its beaches with their original dunes are covered by tamarisks, which differentiate them from those of the center and north of the Pinamar partido.

Given its particular proximity to the bustling and commercial town of Pinamar, Ostend has almost taken on the character of a "residential suburb", being chosen primarily by those tourists who seek tranquility, greenery, and enjoy its peaceful beaches, but at the same time take advantage of the comfort to be a few blocks from the wide range of products and services of the Pinamaranse shopping center.

Valeria del Mar: A familiar location, with residential aspect and neighborhoods adorned with many trees in the streets.

Cariló: An upscale beach resort situated in a man made forest on the Atlantic coast, Cariló offers a lot of activities to individuals of all ages. The beach town offers sand dunes that attract many tourists for four wheeling. Many hotels and lodges in the area either have All-terrain vehicle, or quads, to rent or are associated with a company on the beach that does it. Dune bashing is a local favorite in the area for tourists and year-round inhabitants.
