The city of Rio Grande is located in the extreme southeast of the Argentine Republic, in the northeast of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. It is the most populated city in the province, in fact it exceeds the number of inhabitants of Ushuaia, the capital.
The image was captured on April 27, 2009 by the PRISM instrument aboard the ALOS mission of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (Jaxa).
