Map of the province of Neuquén and its departments.

The Province of Neuquén or, more briefly, Neuquén is one of the twenty-three provinces in the Argentine Republic. In turn, it is one of the twenty-four self-governing states or jurisdictions of the first order that make up the country, and one of the twenty-four national legislative electoral districts. The capital and most populous city is the city Neuquén. It is located northwest of the Patagonian region, which occupies the southern half of the country, bounded on the north by Mendoza (part of its frontier is the Colorado River), on the southeast by Río Negro - a large part of this border is formed by the river Limay- and to the west with Chile, whose limit is determined by the watershed of the Andes mountain range. The boundaries of the provinces of La Pampa, Río Negro, Mendoza and Neuquén are at a point, at the intersection of the Colorado River with the meridian (68º 15 'W).

The province of Neuquén is divided into 16 departments.
