The Comodoro Rivadavia Metropolitan Area is the name of the region, that includes and exceeds the Comodoro Rivadavia - Rada Tilly conurbation with all the small towns that surround it in the south of the Province of Chubut. It is the second most important population center of Patagonia, behind the Argentine conurbation of Neuquén, Cipolletti and Plottier, and is at the 20th place at the national level according to the 2010 census. It has the 3rd position in order of Argentine coastal agglomerations, being only surpassed by Mar del Plata and Bahía Blanca.
