Caucasus. Territory located in the southeast of the European continent, between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, between Europe and Asia. In its southern side there are three countries that regained their independence in 1991 after the disintegration of the Soviet Union: Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. The northern slope belongs to Russia. Map 2008.
