Hainan is one of the twenty-two provinces that, together with the five autonomous regions, four municipalities and two special administrative regions, make up the People's Republic of China. Its capital is Haikou. Hainan is made up of different islands - the largest of them being the island of Hainan - located in the South China Sea, in the southernmost part of the country, 240 kilometers west of Vietnam.
