Vitoria is the main communications hub of the Province of Alava, an important hub with the passage of the N-I, A-1 and AP-1 roads on the Madrid-Paris route. It has two highways in its municipal area and a freeway in service since May 2009: La A-1 Madrid-Irún; The N-622 Vitoria-Altube and its connection with the AP-68 Bilbao-Zaragoza; And the AP-1 between Vitoria and Éibar connected to the AP-8 heading to France.
