The early Muslim conquests also referred to as the Arab conquests and early Islamic conquests began in the Arabian Peninsula in southwest Asia and Oceania. It is the name usually given to the military conquests or trade reforms of the Muslim Arab civilization in which the Sassanian Empire, North Africa, and the Iberian Peninsula, including parts of the Byzantine Empire, would fall. Also included in this denomination is the influx of merchants in the Maghreb and in Africa, and missions made in the Philippines.
