Santander Department 2003
Santander is one of thirty-two departments that, together with Bogota, Capital District, form the Republic of Colombia. Its capital is Bucaramanga. It is located to the northwest of the country, in the Andean region, bordering to the north with Cesar and North of Santander, to the east and south with Boyacá, to the west with Antioquia and to the northwest with Bolivar. With about 2 060 000 inhabitants in 2015, it is the sixth most populous department, behind Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, Cundinamarca, Atlántico and Bolívar.
