Les deux sorties pour Gand, celle du centre et celle du sud de la ville (= \u00absortie 9\u00bb) se trouvent sur l&#8217;E17. Le tunnel sous la Manche peut \u00eatre atteint facilement au d\u00e9part de Gand, de m\u00eame que le tunnel sous l&#8217;estuaire de l&#8217;Escaut (mis en service en 2003), et, par ce biais, la province de Z\u00e9lande et, plus au nord, Rotterdam. Une voie express partant droit vers le sud relie Gand \u00e0 Audenarde, et au-del\u00e0, \u00e0 Mons et au Hainaut industriel.
