G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, la vitesse y est limit\u00e9e \u00e0 120 km\/h. Parmi les principales autoroutes du pays, deux d&#8217;entre elles forment une croix qui couvre les extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s est-ouest du pays pour l&#8217;A1 entre Gen\u00e8ve et Sankt Margrethen et nord-sud pour l&#8217;A2 qui va de B\u00e2le \u00e0 Chiasso. Le r\u00e9seau autoroutier suisse, d&#8217;une longueur de 1 383 km en 2007, est, au vu de la surface totale du pays qui est de 41 290 km\u00b2, l&#8217;un des plus denses au monde. En 2009, ce r\u00e9seau n&#8217;est pas encore termin\u00e9, la priorit\u00e9 ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 donn\u00e9e aux routes les plus importantes, notamment les axes nord-sud et est-ouest.<\/p>\n<p>Le r\u00e9seau routier et autoroutier du pays est principalement financ\u00e9 par une taxe pr\u00e9lev\u00e9e sur chaque v\u00e9hicule \u00e0 moteur enregistr\u00e9 ainsi que par une vignette automobile exig\u00e9e pour circuler sur les autoroutes, la Constitution suisse n&#8217;autorisant pas la cr\u00e9ation de p\u00e9ages pour des routes, tunnels ou ponts sp\u00e9cifiques.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Autoroutes de Suisse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remarque : Les parties en italique indiquent des parties manquantes ou des itin\u00e9raires en construction ou en projection.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A1\u00a0Sankt Margrethen (<span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"fr\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Fronti\u00e8re autrichienne<\/span><\/span><\/span>) &#8211;\u00a0Saint-Gall &#8211;
