Les contacts entre les visiteurs \u00e9trangers et les Cubains ordinaires \u00e9taient de facto ill\u00e9gaux entre 1992 et 1997. Cuba a enregistr\u00e9 2 688 000 touristes internationaux en 2011, soit le troisi\u00e8me chiffre le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 des Cara\u00efbes (derri\u00e8re la R\u00e9publique dominicaine et Porto Rico). La promotion de ces ressources pourrait contribuer au d\u00e9veloppement r\u00e9gional, \u00e0 la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 et au bien-\u00eatre.<\/p>\n<p>Le ministre cubain de la Justice minimise les all\u00e9gations de tourisme sexuel g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9. Selon un site Internet de conseils aux voyageurs du gouvernement canadien, \u00ab Cuba s&#8217;emploie activement \u00e0 pr\u00e9venir le tourisme sexuel impliquant des enfants et un certain nombre de touristes, dont des Canadiens, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnus coupables d&#8217;infractions li\u00e9es \u00e0 la corruption de mineurs de 16 ans et moins. Les peines de prison vont de 7 \u00e0 25 ans. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le 8 septembre 2017, l&#8217;ouragan Irma a gravement endommag\u00e9 certaines installations touristiques de l&#8217;\u00eele. La temp\u00eate a touch\u00e9 terre dans l&#8217;archipel de Camag\u00fcey.
