Ces strates regorgent de ressources min\u00e9rales, dont la plupart n&#8217;ont pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 exploit\u00e9es, comme le calcaire et l&#8217;argile. La formation sup\u00e9rieure de Dammam, datant de l&#8217;\u00c9oc\u00e8ne moyen, est la couche de surface la plus pr\u00e9dominante. Elle est constitu\u00e9e de calcaire et de dolomite. La zone nord du Qatar, qui comprend la source la plus importante d&#8217;eau douce souterraine de la p\u00e9ninsule, tire principalement son eau des formations d&#8217;Umm Err Radhuma et de Rus, datant respectivement du Pal\u00e9oc\u00e8ne et de l&#8217;\u00c9oc\u00e8ne inf\u00e9rieur. Les strates m\u00e9sozo\u00efques sont les couches les plus importantes car elles contiennent du p\u00e9trole.
