L&#8217;\u00c9tat abrite \u00e9galement la troisi\u00e8me plus grande population de tribus r\u00e9pertori\u00e9es (<em>Scheduled Tribes<\/em>) en Inde. L&#8217;Odisha est limitrophe des \u00c9tats du Jharkhand et du Bengale-Occidental au nord, du Chhattisgarh \u00e0 l&#8217;ouest et de l&#8217;Andhra Pradesh au sud. L&#8217;Odisha poss\u00e8de un littoral de 485 kilom\u00e8tres le long de la baie du Bengale dans l&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/gifex.com\/fr\/fichier\/carte-de-l-ocean-indien\/\">oc\u00e9an Indien<\/a>. La r\u00e9gion est \u00e9galement connue sous le nom d&#8217;Utka\u1e37a et est mentionn\u00e9e sous ce nom dans l&#8217;hymne national indien, Jana Gana Mana. J.-C., ce qui entra\u00eena la guerre du Kalinga, co\u00efncide avec les fronti\u00e8res de l&#8217;actuelle Odisha. Les fronti\u00e8res modernes de l&#8217;Odisha ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9limit\u00e9es par le gouvernement indien lors de la cr\u00e9ation de la province d&#8217;Orissa le 1er avril 1936, compos\u00e9e des districts de langue odia du Bihar et de la province d&#8217;Orissa, de la pr\u00e9sidence de Madras et des provinces centrales. Utkala Dibasa (litt\u00e9ralement \u00ab Jour d&#8217;Odisha \u00bb) est c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9 le 1<sup>er<\/sup> avril. Cuttack est devenue la capitale de la r\u00e9gion par d\u00e9cision d&#8217;Anantavarman Chodaganga vers 1135, apr\u00e8s quoi la ville a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9e comme capitale par de nombreux dirigeants, de l&#8217;\u00e8re britannique jusqu&#8217;en 1948. Par la suite, Bhubaneswar est devenue la capitale d&#8217;Odisha.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;\u00e9conomie de l&#8217;Odisha est la 15<sup>e<\/sup> \u00e9conomie d&#8217;\u00c9tat en Inde avec un produit int\u00e9rieur brut de 5,86 billions de roupies (70 milliards de dollars am\u00e9ricains) et un PIB par habitant de 127 383 roupies (1 500 dollars am\u00e9ricains).
