La I-22 entre dans l&#8217;\u00c9tat depuis le Mississippi et relie Birmingham \u00e0 Memphis, Tennessee. En outre, il existe actuellement cinq routes inter\u00e9tatiques auxiliaires dans l&#8217;\u00c9tat : la I-165 \u00e0 Mobile, la I-359 \u00e0 Tuscaloosa, la I-459 autour de Birmingham, la I-565 \u00e0 Decatur et Huntsville et la I-759 \u00e0 Gadsden. Une sixi\u00e8me route, la I-685, sera form\u00e9e lorsque la I-85 sera redirig\u00e9e le long d&#8217;un nouveau contournement sud de Montgomery.
