La capitale est \u00e9galement appel\u00e9e Cabinda, connue localement sous les noms de Tchiowa, Kiowa, Tsiowa ou Chioua. La province est divis\u00e9e en quatre municipalit\u00e9s : Belize, Buco-Zau, Cabinda et Cacongo.<\/p>\n<p>Le Cabinda moderne est le r\u00e9sultat de la fusion de trois royaumes : N&#8217;Goyo, Loango et Kakongo. Il a une superficie de 7 290 km\u00b2 et une population de 716 076 habitants au recensement de 2014 ; la derni\u00e8re estimation officielle (mi-2019) est de 824 143. Goossens, Bruxelles.<\/label><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Le Cabinda est s\u00e9par\u00e9 du reste de l&#8217;Angola par une \u00e9troite bande de territoire appartenant \u00e0 la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo (anciennement connue jusqu&#8217;en 1960 sous le nom de Congo belge), qui d\u00e9limite la province au sud et \u00e0 l&#8217;est. Cabinda est d\u00e9limit\u00e9 au nord par la R\u00e9publique du Congo (anciennement Congo fran\u00e7ais) et \u00e0 l&#8217;ouest par l&#8217;oc\u00e9an Atlantique. \u00c0 proximit\u00e9 de la c\u00f4te se trouvent certains des plus grands champs de p\u00e9trole offshore au monde. L&#8217;exploration p\u00e9troli\u00e8re a commenc\u00e9 en 1954 avec la Cabinda Gulf Oil Company, lorsque le territoire \u00e9tait sous domination portugaise.<\/p>\n<p>Cabinda produit \u00e9galement des bois durs, du caf\u00e9, du cacao, du caoutchouc et des produits \u00e0 base d&#8217;huile de palme ; cependant, la production p\u00e9troli\u00e8re repr\u00e9sente la majeure partie du produit int\u00e9rieur du Cabinda. Cabinda produit 700 000 barils (110 000 m\u00b3) de p\u00e9trole brut par jour. Cabinda Oil est associ\u00e9e \u00e0 Sonangol, Agip Angola Lda (41%), Chevron (39,2%), TotalEnergies (10%) et Eni (9,8%).<\/p>\n<p>En 1885, le Trait\u00e9 de Simulambuco a \u00e9tabli le Cabinda comme protectorat de l&#8217;Empire portugais, et les mouvements ind\u00e9pendantistes du Cabinda consid\u00e8rent comme ill\u00e9gale l&#8217;occupation du territoire par l&#8217;Angola. Alors que la guerre civile angolaise a pris fin en grande partie en 2002, une lutte arm\u00e9e persiste dans l&#8217;enclave de Cabinda.
