Vingt pour cent de la population Hui de Chine vit au Ningxia.<\/p>\n<p>Le Ningxia est d\u00e9limit\u00e9 par le Shaanxi \u00e0 l&#8217;est, le Gansu au sud et \u00e0 l&#8217;ouest et la r\u00e9gion autonome de Mongolie-Int\u00e9rieure au nord et a une superficie d&#8217;environ 66 400 kilom\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s. Cette r\u00e9gion peu peupl\u00e9e et essentiellement d\u00e9sertique s&#8217;\u00e9tend en partie sur le plateau de L\u0153ss et dans la vaste plaine du fleuve Jaune et comprend la Grande Muraille de Chine le long de sa limite nord-est. Pendant environ 2 000 ans, un vaste syst\u00e8me de canaux (d&#8217;une longueur totale d&#8217;environ 1 397 kilom\u00e8tres) a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit sous la dynastie Qin. De vastes projets de remise en \u00e9tat des terres et d\u2019irrigation ont rendu possible une augmentation des cultures. La r\u00e9gion aride de Xihaigu, qui couvre une grande partie de la province, souffre d&#8217;une grave p\u00e9nurie d&#8217;eau, que les canaux \u00e9taient cens\u00e9s att\u00e9nuer.<\/p>\n<p>Le Ningxia \u00e9tait la zone centrale des Xia occidentaux aux XI<sup>e<\/sup> et XIII<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cles, \u00e9tablie par le peuple Tangut ; son nom, \u00ab Xia pacifique \u00bb, d\u00e9riv\u00e9 de la conqu\u00eate mongole de l&#8217;\u00c9tat. Les Tangoutes ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 d&#8217;importantes r\u00e9alisations dans les domaines de la litt\u00e9rature, de l&#8217;art, de la musique et de l&#8217;architecture, et ont notamment invent\u00e9 l&#8217;\u00e9criture Tangoute. Longtemps l&#8217;une des r\u00e9gions les plus pauvres du pays, une petite industrie viticole est devenue \u00e9conomiquement importante depuis les ann\u00e9es 1980. Avant l&#8217;arriv\u00e9e de la viticulture, les 6,8 millions d&#8217;habitants du Ningxia, dont 36 % sont des musulmans du groupe ethnique Hui, d\u00e9pendaient en grande partie du p\u00e2turage, de l&#8217;agriculture vivri\u00e8re et de la culture de la baie de Goji utilis\u00e9 dans la m\u00e9decine traditionnelle chinoise. Depuis, la vinification est devenue la premi\u00e8re sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 du Ningxia, et la province consacre pr\u00e8s de 40 000 hectares aux vignobles et produit 120 millions de bouteilles de vin en 2017, soit un quart de la production chinoise totale.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; display: inline-block; width: 100%;\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm\">\n<figure
