Le nombre d&#8217;\u00eeles habit\u00e9es est diversement cit\u00e9 entre 166 et 227.<\/p>\n<p>La plus grande \u00eele grecque en termes de superficie et de population est la Cr\u00e8te, situ\u00e9e au sud de la mer \u00c9g\u00e9e. La deuxi\u00e8me plus grande \u00eele en superficie est l&#8217;Eub\u00e9e ou Evvia, qui est s\u00e9par\u00e9e du continent par le d\u00e9troit d&#8217;Euripus, large de 60 m, et est administr\u00e9e dans le cadre de la r\u00e9gion de la Gr\u00e8ce centrale. La Cr\u00e8te avec ses \u00eelots environnants et l&#8217;Eub\u00e9e sont traditionnellement exclues de ce groupe.<\/p>\n<p>Cet article exclut le P\u00e9loponn\u00e8se, qui est techniquement une
