La Finlande compte 19 r\u00e9gions (en finnois : maakunta, en su\u00e9dois : landskap). Cet \u00e9chelon administratif r\u00e9sulte de la r\u00e9forme de 1997.<\/p>\n

Les r\u00e9gions sont gouvern\u00e9es par des conseils r\u00e9gionaux. Jusqu’en 2009, les communes \u00e9taient regroup\u00e9es en provinces. C’est cet \u00e9chelon qui colle le mieux au sentiment d’appartenance des Finlandais. En effet, ces r\u00e9gions ont des fronti\u00e8res qui correspondent largement aux anciennes provinces historiques et \u00e0 leurs principales subdivisions.<\/p>\n
