On la d\u00e9nomme souvent \u00ab Adrar mauritanien \u00bb, afin d&#8217;\u00e9viter toute confusion avec la wilaya d&#8217;Adrar alg\u00e9rienne ou l&#8217;Adrar des Ifoghas au Mali.<\/p>\n<p><strong>G\u00e9ographie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La wilaya est limitrophe du Sahara occidental et de la wilaya mauritanienne du Tiris Zemmour au nord, du Mali et de la wilaya mauritanienne du Hodh Ech Chargui \u00e0 l&#8217;est, des wilayas mauritaniennes du Trarza et du Tagant au sud et de la wilaya mauritanienne de l&#8217;Inchiri \u00e0 l&#8217;ouest.<\/p>\n<p>Le climat de l&#8217;Adrar est de type d\u00e9sertique \u2013 saharien \u2013, sec et chaud, avec deux saisons fortement contrast\u00e9es. Si la temp\u00e9rature moyenne y est proche de 28 \u00b0C pour l&#8217;ensemble de l&#8217;ann\u00e9e, elle oscille autour de 15-20 \u00b0C en janvier-f\u00e9vrier, avec des minima pouvant descendre \u00e0 5 \u00b0C au cours de l&#8217;hiver3. Les temp\u00e9ratures estivales sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement comprises entre 28 et 38 \u00b0C, mais elles peuvent atteindre 46-48 \u00b0C.
