Kamerun comprenait \u00e9galement des parties nord du Gabon et du Congo avec des parties occidentales de la R\u00e9publique centrafricaine, des parties sud-ouest du Tchad et des parties de l&#8217;extr\u00eame nord-est du Nig\u00e9ria.<\/p>\n<p>La colonie avait initialement une superficie de 495 000 km\u00b2, apr\u00e8s l&#8217;annexion du Nouveau Cameroun en 1911 elle avait une superficie de 790 000 km\u00b2, soit environ 1,3 fois la superficie de la m\u00e8re patrie.<\/p>\n<p>Avec la d\u00e9faite de l&#8217;Allemagne lors de la Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale, Kamerun est devenu un territoire sous mandat de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des Nations et a \u00e9t\u00e9 divis\u00e9 en Cameroun fran\u00e7ais et Cameroun britannique en 1919.
