Son chef-lieu est Moussoro. La province tire son nom du Bahr el Ghazal, ancien fleuve, qui se dirigeait du lac Tchad vers la d\u00e9pression du Bod\u00e9l\u00e9, dans le sens Sud-Ouest \/ Nord-Est.<\/p>\n<p>Selon le recensement de 2009, la population de la province \u00e9tait de 260 865. Les principaux groupes ethnolinguistiques sont les Dazaga Toubou et les Kanembou.<\/p>\n<p>La province borde la province de Borkou au nord, la province de Batha \u00e0 l&#8217;est, la province de Hadjer-Lamis au sud et la province de Kanem \u00e0 l&#8217;ouest. La province est principalement constitu\u00e9e de prairies, se fondant dans le d\u00e9sert du Sahara au nord.<\/p>\n<p>Moussoro est la capitale provinciale ; les autres agglom\u00e9rations importantes comprennent Chadra, Dourgoulanga, Michemir\u00e9 et Salal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c9conomie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La province est le principal segment agricole de tout le pays, produisant du coton et de l&#8217;arachide, les deux principales cultures de rente du pays.
