Les premiers sont des m\u00e9tas\u00e9diments des supergroupes burundais et malgache qui sont respectivement d&#8217;\u00e2ge m\u00e9so- et n\u00e9oprot\u00e9rozo\u00efque. Les granites p\u00e9n\u00e8trent les roches du Supergroupe Burundais le long d&#8217;une zone de 350 km d&#8217;intrusions mafiques et ultramafiques. Tout comme la Tanzanie, le supergroupe malagarasien a des roches n\u00e9oprot\u00e9rozo\u00efques. Le syst\u00e8me de failles est soit une suture de Kibaran tardif, soit une d\u00e9formation d\u00e9crochante lat\u00e9rale de Kibaran tardif.<\/p>\n<p><strong>G\u00e9ologie \u00e9conomique<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;exploitation mini\u00e8re a commenc\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 1920, bien que les min\u00e9raux ne contribuent pas de mani\u00e8re significative \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9conomie du Burundi, repr\u00e9sentant moins de 1% du PIB. Entre autres min\u00e9raux, l&#8217;exploitation mini\u00e8re au Burundi produit du tungst\u00e8ne, de l&#8217;\u00e9tain, du tantale et du niobium et poss\u00e8de des ressources de nickel, d&#8217;uranium et de terres rares. L&#8217;industrie min\u00e9rale et p\u00e9troli\u00e8re est principalement stagnante en raison de la m\u00e9diocrit\u00e9 des infrastructures et des transports, ainsi que d&#8217;une guerre civile qui s&#8217;est termin\u00e9e en 2005. De nombreuses \u00e9tudes sur la faisabilit\u00e9 de l&#8217;extraction mini\u00e8re ont eu lieu, notamment des filons d&#8217;or pr\u00e8s de Myinga et des gisements d&#8217;or alluviaux dans le nord-ouest.
