Situ\u00e9 sur un promontoire qui s&#8217;avance dans la mer M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, il est surnomm\u00e9 Le Rocher. L&#8217;appellation \u00abMonaco-Ville\u00bb est trompeuse : ce n&#8217;est pas en soi une ville, mais un quartier historique et statistique.
