topographie de la c\u00f4te d&#8217;Alger se caract\u00e9rise par la succession \u00e0 partir du rivage actuel et jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 une altitude de plus de 300 m\u00e8tres, d&#8217;une s\u00e9rie de des pentes, en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral tr\u00e8s rapides, qui bordent le littoral alg\u00e9rois.<\/p>\n<p><strong>G\u00e9ologie et relief<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;\u00e9tude g\u00e9ologique de la r\u00e9gion alg\u00e9roise, peu \u00e9tendue en surface et formant un rocher qui s&#8217;avance dans la mer, r\u00e9v\u00e8le qu&#8217;en arri\u00e8re elle est recouverte d&#8217;un cordon de dunes au-del\u00e0 duquel on trouve les terres s\u00e9dimentaires de la s\u00e9rie tertiaire.<\/p>\n<p>Dans une esquisse g\u00e9ologique et topographique du littoral d&#8217;Alger datant de 1911, il appara\u00eet que ce littoral comprend essentiellement toute la r\u00e9gion basse qui borde sur plus de 100\u00a0kilom\u00e8tres le pied de l&#8217;Atlas, depuis le massif de Sidi-Fredj au nord de Th\u00e9nia des B\u00e9ni A\u00efcha, jusqu&#8217;au mont Chenoua \u00e0 l&#8217;ouest de Tipaza.<\/p>\n<p>Le relief se caract\u00e9rise par trois zones longitudinales\u00a0: le Sahel, le littoral et
