Son chef-lieu est Vaudreuil-Dorion. Il y a deux millions d&#8217;ann\u00e9es, la r\u00e9gion a \u00e9t\u00e9 soumise \u00e0 une s\u00e9rie de glaciations qui ont couvert une grande partie de l&#8217;Am\u00e9rique du Nord. La derni\u00e8re de la s\u00e9rie \u00e9tait la glaciation du Wisconsin. La calotte glaciaire alourdit le paysage. Cela a cr\u00e9\u00e9 des d\u00e9pressions dans le terrain qui ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 les bassins du lac Saint-Louis, du lac des Deux-Montagnes et du lac Saint-Fran\u00e7ois. Au fur et \u00e0 mesure de l&#8217;\u00e9rosion de la calotte glaciaire, la r\u00e9gion a \u00e9t\u00e9 en grande partie submerg\u00e9e il y a 12 000 ans par une mer d&#8217;eau sal\u00e9e int\u00e9rieure connue sous le nom de mer de Champlain. Une fois le glacier fondu, la terre s&#8217;est relev\u00e9e, poussant l&#8217;eau sal\u00e9e dans la mer. Il y a 10 000 ans, le plan d&#8217;eau, maintenant un lac d&#8217;eau douce, a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 par les \u00e9rudits comme le lac Lampsilis.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Routes d&#8217;acc\u00e8s de la
