Il est plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment situ\u00e9 entre la r\u00e9serve indienne de Natashquan et Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador. La MRC, avec une population de 4 500 habitants, comprend un territoire non organis\u00e9 et cinq municipalit\u00e9s dont les plus populeuses sont Blanc-Sablon et C\u00f4te-Nord-du-Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent avec des populations respectives de 1 260 et 1 023 habitants. Il portait auparavant le nom de Basse-C\u00f4te-Nord et inclut dor\u00e9navant le territoire non-organis\u00e9 de Petit-M\u00e9catina de Minganie. Son code g\u00e9ographique est le 982.<\/p>\n<p>Le comt\u00e9 r\u00e9gional est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par l&#8217;absence de liens routiers entre les villages \u00e9tendus sur pr\u00e8s de 375 kilom\u00e8tres de c\u00f4t\u00e9 du golfe. Except\u00e9 Blanc-Sablon, toutes les communaut\u00e9s ne sont accessibles que par bateaux ou par les airs, bien que la route 138 devrait normalement s&#8217;\u00e9tendre un peu plus dans les environs.
