La superficie totale est de 7\u00a0934\u00a0km\u00b2 dont 7\u00a0620\u00a0km\u00b2 terrestres et 314\u00a0km\u00b2 en eau. La MRC se trouve dans la cha\u00eene argileuse de l\u2019Abitibi. Le relief est plat, hormis les collines Gemini et de La Corne. La rivi\u00e8re Harricana coule vers le nord en Jam\u00e9sie pour se jeter dans la baie d&#8217;Hudson.
