Son chef-lieu est Cookshire-Eaton. La MRC s&#8217;\u00e9tend sur 2 271,63 km\u00b2, ce qui en fait la 2e\u00a0plus grande en Estrie. Avec ses 21 394 habitants, elle repr\u00e9sente environ 7\u00a0% de la population estrienne. Deux r\u00e9gions naturelles se partagent l&#8217;ensemble du territoire de la MRC, soit les cha\u00eenons de l&#8217;Estrie, de la Beauce et de Bellechasse ainsi que les montagnes frontali\u00e8res. Le relief du Haut-Saint-Fran\u00e7ois est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par la pr\u00e9sence de vall\u00e9es form\u00e9es par les rivi\u00e8res Saint-Fran\u00e7ois, Eaton et au Saumon. Dans les secteurs nord et nord-est de la MRC, le r\u00e9seau hydrographique bien d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 donne naissance \u00e0 certains lacs d&#8217;importance: Aylmer, Louise, d&#8217;Argent, Miroir,
