Il est exploit\u00e9 pour son \u00e9corce qui fournit le li\u00e8ge. Il est parfois appel\u00e9 le corcier, le surier ou suve.<\/label><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>En 2011, les for\u00eats de la r\u00e9gion de Casablanca-Settat s\u2019\u00e9tendent sur une superficie de 64.750 hectares, ce qui ne repr\u00e9sente que 1% du total national, dont pr\u00e8s de 33.420 hectares sont des for\u00eats de Feuillues naturelles, 16.300 du matorral et 14.420 hectares des essences r\u00e9sineuses naturelles, ce qui la classe parmi les r\u00e9gions pauvres du Maroc.<\/p>\n<p>Repr\u00e9sentant 17% de sa superficie totale, la for\u00eat naturelle fait de la province de Ben Slimane un espace \u00e0 vocation \u00e9cologique et paysag\u00e8re et une force motrice cr\u00e9ant une dynamique sociale, \u00e9conomique et environnementale.<\/p>\n<p>Les efforts de reboisement ont permis certes d\u2019augmenter la superficie du couvert v\u00e9g\u00e9tal en dotant Casablanca-Settat d\u2019une superficie totale de 51.893 de for\u00eat rebois\u00e9e. A la t\u00eate des b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaires de ces efforts vient la province d\u2019El Jadida qui avec ses 25.619 hectares poss\u00e8de 47% du total des for\u00eats rebois\u00e9es, suivies des provinces de Ben Slimane et de Settat avec 23% chacune.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carte du couvert forestier de Casablanca-Settat.
