Les provinces du Haut-Katanga, du Haut-Lomami, du Lualaba et du Tanganyika sont le r\u00e9sultat du d\u00e9membrement de l&#8217;ancienne province du Katanga. Le Haut-Katanga a \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9 \u00e0 partir du district du Haut-Katanga et des villes administr\u00e9es ind\u00e9pendamment de Likasi et Lubumbashi. La temp\u00e9rature moyenne varie entre 10\u00b0C et 40\u00b0C. Le sol est sablonneux au Nord et argile sablonneux au Sud. Son sous-sol est riche en minerais. Les six territoires du Haut-Katanga sont reli\u00e9s en grande partie par les voies routi\u00e8res.<\/p>\n<p>Le r\u00e9seau ferroviaire est l\u2019un des plus d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u00e0 travers le pays. Il sert \u00e9galement \u00e0 la desserte des produits commerciaux et au d\u00e9placement des populations entre le Haut-Katanga et ses provinces environnantes.
