Il est situ\u00e9 au nord-est de la rivi\u00e8re Ituri et sur la rive ouest du lac Albert. Elle a des fronti\u00e8res avec l&#8217;Ouganda et le Soudan du Sud. L&#8217;Ituri est une r\u00e9gion de haut plateau (2000-5000 m\u00e8tres) qui poss\u00e8de une grande for\u00eat tropicale mais aussi un paysage de savane. La province poss\u00e8de une faune rare, dont l&#8217;okapi, l&#8217;animal national du Congo.
