Situ\u00e9e au centre-est du pays, elle a pour chef-lieu la ville de Kindu. Maniema signifie en langue Kibangubangu \u00ab La For\u00eat Vierge \u00bb ou \u00ab La Jungle \u00bb.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>En 2015, le Haut-Uele avait une population de 2,333,000 habitants<\/li>\n<li>avec une superficie de 132,250 km\u00b2<\/li>\n<li>Son chef-lieu est Kindu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>G\u00e9ographie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La province du Maniema\u00a0 est situ\u00e9e au centre-est de la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo. Le Maniema est limitrophe de 6 provinces congolaises, la province du Sankuru \u00e0 l&#8217;ouest, la province de la Tshopo au nord, les provinces du Nord-Kivu et du Sud-Kivu \u00e0 l&#8217;est, et les provinces de Tanganyika et de Lomami au sud. Le territoire de Kailo abrite des mines \u00e0 ciel ouvert de wolframite et de cassit\u00e9rite.<\/p>\n<p><strong>D\u00e9mographie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La province du Maniema est peupl\u00e9e de plus de 1 786 323 habitants, soit 2,71 % de la population totale de la r\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo ; c&#8217;est donc la province la moins peupl\u00e9e du pays. La langue nationale la plus parl\u00e9e est le swahili avec une influence de la langue lingala par la musique et les commer\u00e7ants ambulants. Cette province comprend plusieurs groupes ethniques dont les Lega, les Bangobango, les Songye, les Ngengele, les Buyus, les Samba, les Kwange, les Kusu, les Zimbas, les Ombos\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Subdivisions administratives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La province du Maniema est constitu\u00e9e de la ville de Kindu et de 7 territoires.
