Vers 1896, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 converti en fonctionnement \u00e9lectrique. \u00c0 partir du 21 d\u00e9cembre 1935, il est progressivement remplac\u00e9 par des trolleybus, toujours d\u00e9sign\u00e9s par les anglophones sous le nom de \u00abTrackless trams\u00bb. Il fut finalement ferm\u00e9 le 28 janvier 1939.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;autre r\u00e9seau, ouvert en novembre 1901, \u00e9tait un tramway interurbain reliant Burnside Road au Cap \u00e0 Camps Bay et Sea Point.
