Les cantons de Lucerne et d&#8217;Argovie se trouvent \u00e0 l&#8217;ouest. Au nord, le canton est d\u00e9limit\u00e9 par le canton de Z\u00fcrich, tandis qu&#8217;\u00e0 l&#8217;est et au sud se trouve le canton de Schwyz.<\/p>\n<p>La plupart des terres sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme productives. Le lac de Zoug (allemand : Zugersee) et le lac d&#8217;\u00c4geri (allemand : \u00c4gerisee) constituent une partie consid\u00e9rable de la superficie du canton. Le H\u00f6hronen (pr\u00e8s de H\u00f6hboden) est le point culminant de l&#8217;est du canton. Le Zugerberg, au sud, est une autre \u00e9l\u00e9vation notable. Il se connecte au sud avec le massif du Rossberg qui culmine jusqu&#8217;au Wildspitz (1 583 m) \u00e0 l&#8217;est du Zoug. Ce massif s\u00e9pare le Zoug du bassin et de l&#8217;\u00c4geri. Il s\u00e9pare \u00e9galement la commune vallonn\u00e9 de Menzingen du Zoug.<\/p>\n<p>La rivi\u00e8re Lorze est le principal drainage du canton. Il prend sa source dans l&#8217;\u00c4geri, d&#8217;o\u00f9 il coule vers le nord \u00e0 travers des d\u00e9p\u00f4ts morainiques dans une gorge profonde avec de fines cavernes de stalactites. La rivi\u00e8re finit par entrer dans le Zoug, avant de ressortir du lac en passant par la ville de Cham et de rejoindre la Reuss dans le coin nord du canton. Seule la fronti\u00e8re de 87,5 km entre les cantons de Zurich et de Zoug n&#8217;est pas d\u00e9finie naturellement. Avec ses 1580 m d&#8217;altitude, le Wildspitz est le point culminant du canton. Le canton de Zoug est au 7<sup>e<\/sup> rang des 26 cantons suisses, concernant les imp\u00f4ts sur les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s les plus favorables. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une imposition \u00e0 0,02 \u2030 sur le capital des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s-holding, le canton attire plus de 200 000 \u00ab soci\u00e9t\u00e9s bo\u00eetes aux lettres \u00bb, devenant un paradis fiscal pour les multinationales.<\/p>\n<p>De nombreux politiciens du canton se retrouvent dans les conseils d&#8217;administration des entreprises qui y sont localis\u00e9es. Le taux de ch\u00f4mage s&#8217;\u00e9l\u00e8ve en 2007 \u00e0 1,9 %.
