La r\u00e9gion de l&#8217;actuelle Thurgovie a \u00e9t\u00e9 acquise en tant que territoires assujettis par les cantons de l&#8217;ancienne Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration suisse \u00e0 partir du milieu du XV<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. La fronti\u00e8re sud-ouest longe le canton de Zurich et le canton de Saint-Gall se trouve au sud-est. Il est situ\u00e9 au nord-est du pays et est s\u00e9par\u00e9 de l&#8217;Allemagne par le lac de Constance et le Rhin.<\/p>\n<p>Le canton est enti\u00e8rement travers\u00e9 par la Thur, rivi\u00e8re \u00e0 laquelle il doit son nom.<\/p>\n<p>Le canton de Thurgovie culmine au Hohgrat, \u00e0 991 m d&#8217;altitude, et son point le plus bas se trouve au bord de la Thur sur le territoire de la commune de Neunforn, \u00e0 Oberneunforn, \u00e0 370 m d&#8217;altitude. Avec 991,02 km\u00b2, la Thurgovie est le douzi\u00e8me canton de Suisse par sa superficie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c9conomie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Le canton de Thurgovie est connu pour ses produits agricoles. En particulier, les pommes, les poires, les fruits et les l\u00e9gumes sont bien connus. Les nombreux vergers du canton sont principalement utilis\u00e9s pour la production de cidre. Les principales industries sont l&#8217;imprimerie, le textile et l&#8217;artisanat. Les petites et moyennes entreprises sont importantes pour l&#8217;\u00e9conomie cantonale. Beaucoup d&#8217;entre elles sont concentr\u00e9s autour de la capitale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En 2011, le canton de Thurgovie compte 80 communes, r\u00e9parties en 5 districts. La commune de Horn est enclav\u00e9e entre le canton de Saint-Gall et le lac de Constance.<\/p>\n<p>Le canton s&#8217;\u00e9tend \u00e9galement sur une partie du lac de Constance, sans que cette zone
