Il est entour\u00e9 au nord par le lac de Constance et le canton de Thurgovie. \u00c0 l&#8217;est, il est s\u00e9par\u00e9 de l&#8217;Autriche et du Liechtenstein par la vall\u00e9e du Rhin. La topologie varie des plaines dans le nord pr\u00e8s de la vall\u00e9e du Rhin et du lac de Constance jusqu&#8217;au sud montagneux. \u00c0 peu pr\u00e8s un quart du canton est recouvert de for\u00eat et la moiti\u00e9 de p\u00e2ture alpine.<\/p>\n<p>Saint-Gall culmine au Ringelspitz, \u00e0 3 248 m d&#8217;altitude, et son point le plus bas se trouve au bord du lac de Constance, \u00e0 396 m d&#8217;altitude. La famille von Fels d\u00e9tenait l&#8217;essentiel de ce commerce.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;activit\u00e9 agricole consiste principalement en l&#8217;\u00e9levage laitier et l&#8217;\u00e9levage bovin dans les zones montagneuses. Dans les plaines, la production de fruits et de vin est importante, mais il y a aussi la polyculture.<\/p>\n<p>Les industries du canton comprennent les produits optiques, pyrotechniques, chimiques et pharmaceutiques. Le tourisme joue un r\u00f4le important dans les nombreuses stations baln\u00e9aires. Il y a une station thermale \u00e0 Bad Ragaz et une autre \u00e0 Sankt Margrethen et un grand nombre d&#8217;installations de sports d&#8217;hiver.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En 2015, le canton de Saint-Gall compte 77 communes, r\u00e9parties en 8 circonscriptions \u00e9lectorales (en allemand, Wahlkreis, pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment districts). Raach, une localit\u00e9 de la commune de H\u00e4ggenschwil, est enclav\u00e9e dans le canton de Thurgovie.<\/p>\n<p>Le canton s&#8217;\u00e9tend \u00e9galement sur les lacs de Constance, de
