Il \u00e9tait aussi connu sous le nom d&#8217;a\u00e9roport de Lwano. Sa construction a \u00e9t\u00e9 commenc\u00e9e en 1953.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;a\u00e9roport a eu un grand r\u00f4le durant la guerre du Katanga.
