Il est d\u00e9limit\u00e9 :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00e0 l&#8217;ouest, par la Garonne, qui le s\u00e9pare du secteur 2 ;<\/li>\n<li>au sud, par le pont Saint-Michel, les all\u00e9es Paul-Feuga, les all\u00e9es Jules-Guesde, le square Boulingrin et les all\u00e9es Paul-Sabatier, qui le s\u00e9parent du secteur 5 ;<\/li>\n<li>\u00e0 l&#8217;est et au nord, par le canal du Midi, qui le s\u00e9pare des secteurs 4, \u00e0 l&#8217;est, et 3, au nord.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>C&#8217;est un des secteurs les plus dens\u00e9ment peupl\u00e9s, avec presque 70 000 habitants. Le territoire est compos\u00e9 des quartiers historiques du centre-ville et inclut la plus grande partie du site patrimonial remarquable. Il concentre \u00e9galement de nombreux \u00e9quipements de centralit\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9chelle de la ville, mais aussi de l&#8217;agglom\u00e9ration toulousaine et m\u00eame de la r\u00e9gion Occitanie.
