Ses habitants sont appel\u00e9s les Haut-Rhinois. L&#8217;Insee et la Poste lui attribuent le code 68. Le Haut-Rhin occupe la partie m\u00e9ridionale de l&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/gifex.com\/fr\/fichier\/carte-de-l-alsace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alsace<\/a>. La majeure partie du d\u00e9partement est situ\u00e9e dans la plaine d&#8217;Alsace, sur toute la partie est, avec les r\u00e9gions naturelles du Ried dans le nord-est et la Hardt dans le sud-est. Mulhouse abrite l&#8217;usine Stellantis, o\u00f9 sont actuellement construites les Peugeot 2008 et Peugeot 508. Le taux de ch\u00f4mage le plus faible de France se situe dans le Sud au Sundgau (environ 2 %). La campagne est marqu\u00e9e par des collines. De nombreux Haut-Rhinois travaillent en Suisse, notamment dans les industries chimiques de B\u00e2le, mais font la navette depuis la France o\u00f9 le co\u00fbt de la vie est moins \u00e9lev\u00e9.
