Sediment along the Hudson Bay coast, Canada
Sediment rings the southern shores of the Hudson Bay, turning its waters a milky green in this true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image. The sediment, washed into the Bay from the shore, is brown where it first enters the water. As the sediment diffuses, the blue of the water becomes more visible and the sediment appears green. The inlet in the lower right corner is James Bay. To its left is Ontario, and to its right is Quebec, Canada. The Terra satellite captured this image on August 23, 2003.
