This MODIS true-color image, acquired April 6, 2002, shows Peary Land in Northernmost Greenland. Well inside the Arctic Circle, this area is free of the inland icecap and is home to musk oxen, caribou, and sparse vegetation (lichens, mosses, grasses, and sedges).
