The Andean Community of Nations
The Andean Community of Nations was established in 1969 (originally called "Acuerdo de Cartagena" its name changed later to "Andean Pact" and still later to its current name, given in 1997.
Its aims are, among others, to:
* Promote balanced and harmonious development through integration, economic and social cooperation,
* Establish an Andean Common Market.
The present members are: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, after Venezuela left the CAN in May 2006. Map 2006.
