Fires in Mexico and Central America
On April 28, 2002, scores of wildfires were still burning in Southern Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula, blanketing the region with smoke. Fire detection and imagery were acquired by the Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASAs Terra satellite.
